Looking at the futures and all 3 are the Dow is up almost 2000.
Maybe everyone got it out of their system?

Seems like positive steps are being taken. If we avoid overwhelming the medical system the stock market could move up.

Not today or tomorrow but Monday. What you are looking at, isn’t what you think. The futures market does not open until tomorrow at 5 pm EST.

I'm not much of a stock market person, outside of my 401 K. What exactly is the "futures" market and how does it work? Is this strictly speculation on the next days expected trade activity?

Tomorrow is shaping up to be a tough day or not..,
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures slid about 1,040 points, or 4.6%, while S&P 500 futures fell 5% to once again hit a limit designed to stall further drops. S&P futures have hit the 5% limit down several times recently. Futures tied to the benchmark 10-year Treasury note rose 1.2%, indicating yields were set to decline. Changes in futures don’t necessarily reflect moves after the opening bell and moves Sunday evening can be especially volatile.
