Anyone who resides in that State deserves what they get.
You won’t be able to pump your own gas soon. Ploy to collect more taxes.
Then the standard gas tax increases.
$50 more annual licensing fees per vehicle, no matter what it is worth.
The Illinois side of the Quad Cities is experiencing a mass exit. Cheap Illinois houses aren’t selling....property tax stupidity.
They deserve it all....when they elected that fat governor. Let em suffer.

How the hell would that be enforced? It can't. The ordinance as passed is illegal under Illinois statute. In the year or so preceding Illinois' enactment of "Shall Issue" carry, they also passed a bill into law that made it illegal to enact municipal ordinances controlling firearms. IIRC, a few already standing municipal ordinances were grandfathered, but no municipality can lawfully pass any such ordinance today.

Now let's see how much the Dems believe in that "Nobody is above the law" mantra they were shouting not long ago.

Don't know If it would sell today, or not. Gonna find out next year. Will be out of Illinois if it sells or not. Place doesn't owe me anything, and I won't leave anything I need to return for...

Shouldn't that brilliant Gov have simply made it illegal to transfer a virus?

Do those politicians think they're bulletproof? It's Chicago.... Well... Not exactly, Sock... Probably the most boring 3 hours you can imagine south of Chicago on the interstate. (OK, 2 hours of boredom considering the hour of terror in driving near Chicago) there's a weird political dynamic in much of downstate Illinois. The politician who authored and pushed Illinois "Shall Issue" law was from that area, if not Champaign exactly. And he's a democrat. In fact, many of the downstate dems are quite a bit more conservative than some of the Chicago area republicans. The university towns like Champaign and Carbondale throw a wrench in that idea, but you'll find the same mentality in university towns about anywhere.

And don't get me wrong. I'll not take up for even the most conservative of the downstate dems. They believe that through reason and cooperation that common sense gun laws are a good thing. In doing so they do a disservice to both common sense and reason.

Any excuse.... Any time..... Any event........ " It's an emergency"........" It's for public safety"........" It's only common sense"......." we have to act now!"....... "There's no time for debate"..........."Lives could be at risk"........ etc. etc. etc.

Sorry about the disrespect. Good folks in every State, broad brush was not called for. The Supreme Court allowed States to collect sales tax for internet, out of state, purchases. Iowa will likely collect millions from EBay alone. Now our supposedly conservative Governor, Reynolds, wants to increase our sales tax another point. Sales tax increases are forever. It is never enough. Anyone who resides in that State deserves what they get.

But it's a municipal ordinance passed by the city's leadership. Until a higher authority says they can't do that, do you think the police will buck their mayor's orders? While it may not stand, it probably still has to be litigated. Won't cost the mayor a dime, just the taxpayers and those who challenge it. I think most police will do what it takes to protect their paycheck and follow orders.
