Just saw a news flash where the mayor of Champaign, IL, has signed an executive order giving herself the power to stop the sales of alcohol, firearms, ammunition, gasoline, as well as shut off utilities AND seize private property.

No fugging such thing as a "potential ban". Either the law is written to give the city certain powers, or it is not. Just because no one is enforcing a law, does not negate its existence.
