Does anyone know when the manufacturing moved from Belgium to Miroku? or obvious visual differences. I saw a nice one at a shop today for $650; seemed over priced. Then this evening thinking of it, if it was a Belgium made, maybe it was a fair price. I think the easiest way to tell based on pictures I've seen is that the forearm checkering is wrap around on the Belgiums?

Easiest way to tell is the marking on the barrel: Made in Japan or Belgium. Like A5s, the Japanese ones, at least the early ones, had (have?) darker finish on the stocks. Been a long time since I've seen one in person. For a shooter, I wouldn't care much about where it comes from.
$650 is out of line for a standard-grade Miroku. New ones are less from any number of sources. I would pay that for a nice FN without quibbling.
What fresh Hell is this?

Look at the markings on the rifle, they will have stamped - Made in Japan or Made in Belgium.

Yea, I was in a hurry and was too busy looking at the wood to see if there were scratches. It's a bit of a drive so not sure I can make it back there real soon. Someone said it was made in 1967 so I was thinking it was a Belgium. I'll get back in a week or two.

I had a Belgium made one a long long time ago and while it looked classic and slim the accuracy was the berries with it.
Traded it for something that I can't remember now and wished I had it back, even though it wasn't that accurate.....just a dad gum classic.
