IIRC getting a Euro done of the skull and soft tanning the hide was about $700 for the cow I shot in Custer State Park some years back. Not cheap, but worth it I think as it's unlikely I'll ever draw a tag again.

That's the one I did. 30 hart is his name here.

How was it?

It was pretty interesting, I wouldn't do twice but I wouldn't discourage anyone from doing it . I guess better than a canned ranch but not quite a Henry mtns. Hunt would be the best description.

How was the hog hunting there? I've looked at them online. I want to hunt, not just shoot a farm raised pet. But don't want to drive to Florida. I've done hogs twice in Florida and had a good time both times.

I have been there four times, but not in the past ten years. The hog population at that time was self-sustaining and wild. The woman that ran the place had excellent management shills and the herd self-propagated. The daughter took over after momma died and over booked to the point where they had to bring hogs in from Canada.

If it is like it was ten years ago it would be a good hunt. I believe one of the 24 Hour big hunts was held there not too long ago. Perhaps one of those guys might comment.

Bob,

I'll try to find the old thread on that hog hunt and see what they say.

Small Game, Deer, Turkey, Bear, Elk....It's what's for dinner.

If you know how many guns you own... you don't own enough.
