Anyone seeking a public office should be required to pass a basic educational assessment test dealing with civics, math, reading comprehension, and other basic components of what we call education. Why do so many private sector jobs require proof of education and skill related to the job requirements ? It's because they can't afford to hire folks without the required skill set for that particular position. Let's establish requirements for public office candidates and weed out the unqualified. For exhibit number one I give you Maxine Waters.
