I have own a couple SWFA fixed power optics and their 3-15x42 optics as well. I have been looking at their new 2.5-10 Ultralight. The specific optic seems very attractive but I hate to part with that much money and be disappointed with quality. I have returned for warranty a few of my fixed power and 1 3-15 on account of a foggy ring around the sight picture. I do have a Leupold Vx-3i 2.5-8x36, very impressive. Should I got with another one of these instead for about the same money?!?!

Except for presumed better dialing, I think the old Burris Fullfield II 3-9 is a better deal, and someone here we all know and love thinks it's a better scope too. Half the price, just a bit heavier, better ER, but you lose an X on either end.

I have an SWFA 2.5-10 UL on a Kimber 6.5 CM and really like it. It was easy to zero, and the adjustments seem very consistent. The eye relief is a bit short around 9-10x, but totally manageable on this rifle. I don't have experience with the Burris, but if you want a reliable, really lightweight scope for a relatively light kicker, the SWFA UL is a good option IMO based on my experience with 2 of them.

On the Leupold 2.5-8x36, while I have used these extensively in Vari X III and VX 3 variants, I've had have recent issues with one of them requiring 2 trips back to Beaverton.

What would you put the scope on?

I have the SWFA Ulralight with the multipoint reticle on a 527 .223. After one range trip I am happy with it, on that rifle the eye relief at even at 10x is sufficient.

I liked the one I have when it was on a contender 223. Tracked well and was easy to zero. I swapped to a Docter 6x and I'm thinking about putting the UL on an AR.

I plan to put it on a .22lr or a .223 bolt gun.

The SWFA UL might be a fine choice then. I believe they also have a model with the parallax set at 50 yds for rimfires.

Most of the fixed powers are blurry around the edges.
