I cant seem to find a pair of clear shooting glasses that dont distort to some degree.....i do wear eyeglasses but have to take them off when shooting so just a straight pair of clear glasses that are clear would be great....suggestions

Depends on what you are shooting. Rifle I just use a pair of prescription glasses for distance only. Handgun or shotgun I just wear my everyday glasses.

I'd take a look at the Decot sport glasses webpage.
Too close for irons, switching to scope...

I'd take a look at the Decot sport glasses webpage. Decots have been my favorite for 30 years. Being able to adjust the nose pieces so the glasses ride higher prevents a lot of that looking through the edges of the lens.

I can make some general recommendations. If maximum acuity is your goal, avoid wrap around design glasses. The wrap designs often bring good amounts of distortion. If you require a correction, the wrap arounds are even worse. The recommendation of Decot's are good ones. Many rifle shooters will tilt their heads downward to sight on a rifle. The Decot models with the adjustable nose pieces allow you to position the lenses so you are looking through the optical center and not through the top edge or worse yet, over the top of the lens.
If these don't work for you or you require even more acuity, there are other options such as having your optician grind the optical center to match your shooting head position (you'll have to bring your rifle in to the optician). ...or you can use one of the dedicated shooting frames such as Knobloch, Jaggi or Champion. Feel free to PM me offline if you need help.

I just got new prescription glasses this week and use the sunglasses (polarized, progressive, brown tint) for shotgun shooting. Went out yesterday and shot 73 out of 75 in skeet so they seem to be working well. When I got my eyes tested I asked if they could put together a pair with the reading/close up section up top so I could use it pistol shooting to see my sights without having to crane my head back. They told me it couldn't be done due to some convergence thing.
Getting back to the OP topic, I would just recommend buying a nice pair of sunglasses with a very light tint. Cheap plastic shooting glasses are not likely to be optically correct.

Oakley. The lenses are replaceable as well. All of their lenses are ANSI rated as safety glasses.
