I was in the wildlife program at that same College. I shot my first archery elk, a lead cow, near Troy.
Good times up in that area. How's the Corner Club doing? Good times indeed. Seems just like yesterday but it's been 20+ years since I resided in Moscow. Had the pleasure of tromping around the Clearwater area with Corey Jacobsen of Elk101 while we were going to school there. Good stuff Dave!

T, Here is a Selway bull from a couple of years ago. I wasn't the shooter, just the guide. For those that care about such things, this bull had an ear tag and was the oldest recorded bull ever tagged in Idaho....at least according to the IDFG Regional Office in Nampa. Dave I Damn it. How old Dave? I love that selway country

32_20,
Small world! Corey and I hunted the Selway together as well. We're still good buds to this day. We spoke last week as it happens. In fact, I was the Editor of his hunting magazine and wrote the humor column in it for the 4/5 years it was in publication (Extreme Elk) a couple of years back.
Jud,
I'll have to look it up when I get home, but I BELIEVE it was 13 years old. It way tagged as a calf 30 miles from where I found it the night before hunting season. We killed it 5 minutes into opening day. Pretty crazy (and lucky) hunt.
Dave

I sure miss the Selway. I used to be able to saddle up in my mom's yard in the Bitterroot, ride over the divide and down to the river and then go about anywhere I wanted to for days. Whitecap Creek, Goat Haven Peaks, all the Moose Creek drainages, whatever. Now days I have to trailer them a good 2 miles to a trailhead...

Scenar Shooter- Those are some monster elk. The only place in Colorado to find elk like that on a regular basis is Rocky Mountain National Park, and they don't take kindly to people who shoot them!

Dang Dave, very small world! Corey is good people and cool to see where he's taken his passion for elk and very cool you were a part of that. I thinks it's been about 10 years since I talked to him.
Great pics all!!

That tractor looks prehistoric! Naw, it ain't that old. It's a feller buncher, pretty common around here on the smaller wood they cut nowadays

The best thing on the interwebs I've seen this year.
My grocery run raghorns don't belong here.
