I am back on the road after 37 years, bought my Kawasaki on November 3rd and turned 5,700 miles yesterday after a short, solo 167 mile ride. What do you own and are your riding?
Good for you Dave, shiny side up.....
I kinda retired riding by accident. Sold the last bike several years ago right before Labor Day weekend, with the intent of getting a new one the following spring. Next year, I started shooting a lot more 1K BR matches, and before you knew it, half the summer was gone. So the next year was the plan, then the next, till finally said the hell with it, it just ain't safe out there anymore. It was a good run.....
Always rode Harleys. Went straight from a Honda XL-250 to a Sportster, and all big twins after that. Best summer was 16,000 miles.
My favorite.....Fatboy with all black paint, S&S top end & gear drive cams, fixt up straight off the dealer's floor....
'14 HD Ultra Classic - pumped up a bit with Rinehart headers, pipes, bigger intake and HD's race tuner.. The other's an '18 HD Street Glide - basically stock..

Man you guys got me jonesing for another bike. After I had a 12 vertebrae fusion done wife and kids said no more Harleys. I'm still thinking maybe sex and cooking would be a small trade for another chopper! 😉
Molɔ̀ːn Labé Grandpa:the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Dad:son you have 2 choices for supper eat or don't eat.
Took my MSC through the local HD shop and the week after I was legal went in and test rode a bunch of bikes up to the Road Glide, like them all but the 'Glide was an eye opener after several months of riding a 362 lb Ninja 400 around the county.
I will likely end up on a 2020 Ninja 1000SX, a faired sport touring bike but not full on touring bike like the 'Glide or Gold Wing and pick up a Sportster 1200 for local play.
The gearhead in me wants the new 130ci in a Sportster package
That is a Cherokee in the background, a narrow track rather than a Chief. I need to finish the project since I miss driving it. I need to build the exhaust, run brake and fuel lines and swap the body over to the new chassis sitting in the garage with a 5.3/4L60/NP241 ready to go.
... Of course Id have to get myself a dirt bike as well 😉
Found a pretty decent ‘77 yz400 for cheap.
I regularly get the urge to relive the dirt bike escapades of my yout'. However, I don't live on a farm anymore, nor do I have the cartilage I once did. I figure if I could find a way to rent one for a couple hours, it would quickly cure me of my desire to get back into it.
But please post pics & videos of that yz400. Living vicariously is much easier on my back.

The 86 Gold Wing 1200 that nearly took my left foot off when I blew out a rear tire at 65 MPH back in 2014 is getting repurposed as a Can-Am Spyder style 3-wheeler for the day when I get too old and feeble for a 2-wheeler. I'm adapting the front suspension and steering system off a Polaris ATV to the Honda frame. It looks like the project is going to cost around $2500.00, not $25K for a Can-Am! After building dirt track race cars from a pile of steel tubing and a welder for 40-something years, that project ought to be a piece of cake! Jerry
