OP 257Bob Campfire Tracker Joined: Jun 2003 Posts: 6,818 Tallahassee, Florida	Looking for recommendations for a new barrel install for my Ruger 77. I've used Douglas and Shilen in the past but looking for "economy" alternatives as this is really just a camp gun. Going from 7.6239 to 6mm Creedmoor. Thanks in advance.

las Campfire 'Bwana L Joined: Jun 2001 Posts: 32,080 Kenai Peninsula, AK	I have done them both ways and came out well, , using Shaws and once a takeoff .338WM that I put on my hunting pard's 7 Mag when it went belly up. His shoots almost as well as mine, and mine is MOA or better with fire-formed, neck sized hand loads. Original barrel. As said above, Shaws are a good value. Last edited by las; 03/26/20. The only true cost of having a dog is its death.
