Very flawed analogy

Eating out anything if you’re barely scraping by is pure ignorance and most likely the root cause of why someone like that doesn’t have a pot to piss in when they’re old and feeble.

When I began to read your post I thought it might be about hard working older seniors who have returned to work at a McDonald’s, not eating there.

A thrifty person can eat a bowl of oatmeal and fry a egg everyday for a week compared to eating breakfast or lunch just once at Mickey Dees.

Eggs are a buck a dozen, and a small barrel of oatmeal is $3 ($4 all week)

Eating everyday at McDonald’s, even on the cheap value meal ($7) x 7days = $49

The smart ones go to the Costco if there's one nearby (and if one can get in nowadays).

Last time I was there, great big slice of combo (vegies, you know) pizza (something like 750 calories) and a small cup for water from the soda machine, cost me a whole $2.14, tax included.

$7 for a Mickey D's bkfst??? Outrageous I say.

Go for the pizza every time.

Corporations get the lions share of this. Hopefully that will provide jobs as soon as this virus blows over.

Actually, the corporations will get our share too, it just passes through our hands first.

People in a tight spot get some help. People doing ok get some gravy. Eventually it all ends up in the hands of big corporations, and taxpayers will get the bill.

Hopefully the economy will rebound and unemployment will rapidly go back down, Trump will get re-elected, and Republicans take back the House.

See how that works?

Take the money, say thanks, and use it while you still can. The way things are going who knows what the situation will be two weeks from now.

Paying taxes is irrelevant, the purpose is to help people effected by the shutdown of the economy. Retirees as well as those on welfare and not working, their incomes are not effected.

Those on SS's their income won't be affected? True enough, but look at how the prices in the grocery stores have skyrocketed. Their outgo is certainly affected. You pay more for everything. If you don't want it, don't take it. I'm betting a lot of those talking about how they don't want or need the money will cash that check when it comes.

$5ish for breakfast
7ish for lunch

But remember we’re talking about granny that has to skip medication and make difficult decisions

But she can go burn gas in her Electra 225 and suck down $2 pizza and $1.50 corn dogs every day.

Makes sense right?

Making a debate

You can’t give me a sad story about old people scraping by and then say it’s ok for them go to McDonald’s every day.

They sprinkle you with 1200; but they make you pay back 8500 plus interest and penalties.

You shouldn't be surprised old people eat at Macdonald's. Look at the crazy things they say on this website. Eating at Macdonald's seems like Solomon-esque comparatively.

Agreed, corporations will get the lion's share with no oversight to speak of. They will launder it slightly and then move it offshore, of course.

Might as well spend it, get a new gun or TP. Trying to save it is a loosing proposition when money is created out of thin air.

Don't know if we will see anything. Probably give some more to church. And maybe to crippled Charlie down the road after he works in the yard some, now there's one that will put it right back in circulation! Lotto tickets and cigarettes.

Electra 225! Brings back memories, car we had in Drivers' Training class. Thing had some get up and go. Gas is cheap now, so granny has extra $$$ for burgers and pizza nowadays.

I agree, if the old folks are that poor, they should be eating at home. Even a blony sammich on store brand wonder bread is cheaper than a $1 burger. And community subsidized purified and treated water comes right out the tap. Go to the Grocery Outlet and get a bag of apples or oranges for $5, probably $0.50 each. Decent lunch there for an old fella.

Me, I'm living high on the retirement teat. I can afford to eat real cheese and not some Velveeta knock off. And we get 4-6 eggs a day, so don't even have to pay for them at Aldi's, just have to get them their expensive feed.

Drive home safely, don't get the Corona at a toll booth or such.
