I had 12v and then a 14.4v Lincoln. I gifted them to friends when each was successively replaced. I got tired of dealing with the proprietary batteries, when I had 20+ DEWALT 18v batteries.

I’ve still got a Lincoln charger that plugs into an automotive cigarette lighter socket. It’s BNIB. If you can use it, I’d be happy to send it your way gratis.

I got two batteries with the gun, and keep a spare in my work truck, but so far have not had to use it.

Not much.

They get slightly longer battery life though in actual use you likely won't notice. They also weigh a bit less or at least they can.

Most of the new stuff is brushless by default, since it is being used as a marketing device, so you don't often have a choice.

A deck I built recently

Dad and I rebuilt my 14’x70’ deck last year. My old 18v and his new 20v, both Dewalt. No issues. Wife then bought a new 20v dewalt. I’ll buy the adapters and start using her batteries on my tools. Cordless sawzall and ang grinder are handy.

Contractors at work have either Dewalt or Milwaukee. About 50/50. A smattering if Hilti thrown in. Work shops are about 50/50 too.

1/4” impact for deck screws.

Lag bolts can start with a 1/4” impact but likely need finished off by hand or with a bigger 3/8 or 1/2” impact, depending on the size.

Didn't read the whole thread but this kinda handy for a 1/2" impact driver and running the occasional torx screw. It will stick one of those long dong screws(not pictured) into an oak rail road tie all day long. Obviously just stick a socket on it for lag bolts.

I wouldn't use it for a dedicated driver(aka deck project) though.

Ricardo, last week my old pickup threw an injector. It and the camera are at the Ford garage.

Other than about 30-40 calves nothing new here in the last 3-4 days.

For the continuously running required when "countless" long deck screws are needed It calls for the need of more than one impact driver.
They all get hot with continual heavy use, letting one rest while working with another can keep you from damaging the new tool you purchase.

It's nice having a couple around, God gave you two hands, use um....

Half the world would just take the second one back to Lowes when they were done with their deck...if not both.
Don't take that as a recommendation, it's just an observation.

Although it appears quite structurally sound and legally up to code, from balusters to hand rail it blocks far too much view and completely lacks in creativity.

I really like the glass and brushed stainless. It’s a bit pricey compared with other materials.

The glass is great but spendy and also a bitch to keep clean.

The various new stainless cable systems absolutely rock and require zero maintenance. (forever)
I have a couple "great view" homes, when I am inside the house looking out I can't even see the stainless cables.

Don't overlook Porter Cable. A ton of bang for the buck. Factory batteries hold a charge forever, it seems.........
