Trump/Pence term ends on a specific date - election or no election. There is a formula as to what happens after and it's complicated. But the answer is that Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont would be named as POTUS pending another election.

It's a question that, as far as I know, has never been adjudicated. My best guess is that the winning argument will be that the electoral college will still be selected by each state and the process will be the same at that point as if there had been an election. Whatever happens, rest assured that the left will riot.

The Constitution actually takes into account this scenario. And in this event the Republicans would lose the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives. For no other reason than more Republican seats are up for election this year than Democratic seats. In the House, the Senate and, of course, the White House. So by having terms end by law it would give the Democrats the majority in both houses of congress and by some quirk in the process it would allow the longest tenured member of the majority party in the Senate to rise to POTUS. And that would be Sen. Leahy of Vermont.

And this is why we will have elections this November no matter what. No way an administration is going to allow this to happen to their detriment.

There is NO US Constitutional provision for a popular vote for POTUS and VPOTUS, and there is NO US Gov 'managed' Election, each State Constitution, IIRC, directs it's EC voters to vote a certain way based on that States Popular Vote for POTUS and VPOTUS.....

In the absence of a State holding a popular vote for POTUS and V, the several States would need to provide other direction for their EC vote casters..............

1824 was the first election where Electors were chosen by popular vote, 18 States..... also that year 6 States chose their electors by the State Legislature.....

This is why the left is dangerous. They plan much farther ahead than conservatives. Conservatives are worker bees that pay the bills, while the left is the crowd that plots and schemes for advantage.
