Hello Gents! Any tricks for smoothing up a Pre64 M70 safety? I recently picked up an action and the safety is hard to move backwards. Pushing the safety forward is no problem.
Thanks!

Search a bit here, it has been addressed many times. Not too hard to do. You need a stone though. There are pics etc on here. I don't have any pics to help explain it or I would.

Heck I can't find anything on search! Take your bolt apart and remove the firing pin. If you don't know how to do that, you don't need to know how to fix the Safety. Once you have the firing pin in your hand, you will see a half moon looking bevel on the right front face of the cocking piece. This needs a little stoning. Trial and error. Don't stone too much between assembly and checks. Lube it up good too.
