Seems like just a few years ago there was a decent amount of interest in the 6.5mm WSM wildcat. There were a few active threads on the wildcat cartridge and a few people were having rifles built.

The 6.5mm WSM seemed to have a lot of promise: .264WM performance in a short action rifle, bullet selection is very good, and brass was super easy to form by simple necking down 270 WSM or 7mm WSM brass.

Now, a search of the internet reveals no recent threads on the 6.5mm WSM.

Anyone know why the sudden drop-off in interest for what looks to be a very good wildcat?

I bought it pre-enjoyed. The original owner indicated that the Winchester CRF action was blue-printed and the rifle smithed by Bo Clerke of Raton NM. Said the stock was by Mark Bansner. When I contacted M. Bansner on Facebook, he said he did not remember the stock.

Tried a number of different bullets, but this rifle likes the 140 gr. Sierra Spitzers best of all I've tried.

The 143 gr. Hornady ELD-X were not around when I did my load development. Thinking of breaking the rifle out and giving them a try.

Have not played with it lately, but for a while it was my go to and certain death on turks and hoglets.

Here lately its been more the 26 Nosler with the factory 142 LR Accubonds , and the 6.5 PRC, with the factory Hornady Black, 143 gr. ELDX.
