Before I lost them all in a boating accident, I had a T1x in .22lr, a LH .223 with 1-10 twist, a RH .223 with 1-8 twist, a LH 300 WSM, a LH 30-06, and a yet to be fired Lh .260 Rem with a wood stock, and another NIB LH .223 for my son. I also set up a new female hunter with one in 7-08. I have never seen a factory gun with a better trigger pull from the factory or one that was easier to get shooting better than ought to be expected for its chambering. I am so grateful that they are available in LH. You too? It was a real tragedy when it happened to me as well.

Sure wish they'd offer one up in the 6.5 PRC. Word is, they’re releasing one this summer.

It's taken me eons to even remotely warm to them. But when asked what rifle for either a new hunter or someone that hunts but has little knowledge on the latest/greatest, I almost always recommend a Tikka.
Me too. But, I had to try one. It does shoot very well. I still favor my custom rifles more. I should, I would hope. Look I'm talking to myself. Laughing!! I really need to get out of the house. Waiting on spring bear hunting. Seeing some of my friends, having a grand ol time.

I was the same way - just could not like them and made fun of a couple friends that shot them. Then I finally bought one of the Superlites - always been a sucker for fluted barrels on rifles. Changed a few things on that rifle and now its one of my 2 go to rifles I use. Its shoots, its lightweight even with a 20oz scope and seems to have good hunting Mojo:)

I bought mine as a roadtrip/truck gun and learned to like it so well it is now my go to rifle. Putting a SS 3-9HD on it is the perfect touch.

Any idea what caliber the prototype was chambered for? I'm no help; but, I want to throw out a guess. My guess is 6.5 Swede. My second guess would be .308. Probably right. Okie John
If Montana had a standing army, a 270 Win with Federal Blue Box 130's would be the standard issue.

I remember when they started getting popular 14 years or so ago. All the complaints about all the plastic. Still waiting on all the broken part pictures. LOL. I’ve had one since 2007. I remember the same complaints, back then and prior. About that time, I had a T3 in 300 WSM that I wanted to sell, and many people didn't want anything to do with a Tikka. Now, I see many of those same people are the biggest advocates! Times change. I guess more importantly, opinions change.

It's nice to see so many people have come to their senses.

The Tika’s Are an impressive rifle. A good friend of mine bought one in .270. He’s not really a rifle crank of any sort and bought the Tika mainly because it fit him well, was chambered for the .270 (my fault 😄) and the price was right.
Turns out it was very accurate and he did well it’s it. He did have a mis-que with in one day when he somehow managed to drop the loaded magazine from in onto a concrete floor....... the mag split and he found himself owning a single shot rifle until he could find another magazine for it!

One million "Plastikka's?" Wow! I guess im responsible for purchasing a dozen or so of those, not including another dozen that My buddies have purchased since they have witnessed Range sessions with mine over the years..I was not a fan till I bought one and discovered The wealth of excellent aftermarket part upgrades ( bottom metal, bolt stops, bolt shrouds, bolt handles and such) I know these upgrades are not really needed, especially on the T3x but to quote 16bore I enjoy putting "lipstick on my pigs" ......I always keep a Superlite .300 Win / .300 WSM In My safe for a rainy day or any day rifle, ...So here's to the next million! Long live the mighty T3!! 👍........Hb

I've been shooting Tikka rifles since 1976 or so. I have 3 at present -- two M65 in 30-06 -- one T3 in 6.5 X 55 Swede. All are excellent shooters. With my handloads they are capable of MOA groups or better. Favourite is the T3 Swede.
Pretty hard to beat out of the box for the money you spend.

I have a Tikka T3 Lite in .300 WSM, but have only had it to the range twice. Hopefully, I can find a bullet it likes to shoot, as I am not impressed with it's accuracy so far. Since I added a Limbsaver recoil pad last year, it's been sitting in the safe. That needs to change soon.

Since I added a Limbsaver recoil pad last year, it's been sitting in the safe. That needs to change soon. I've come across the odd Tikka T3/T3x that needed to have the two little nodules in the barrel channel removed so the barrel is free floating right back to the action. Thereafter never had one that wouldn't shoot MOA or better, sometimes .5 MOA or better.
