Percentage is likely lower, as there are cases that have been undiagnosed due to lack of testing.

Thats actually 1.7843% You have to move the decimal 2 places to the right to get percent.

Of those totals, there are 52,000 infected in NY and over 700 dead there.

Nothing like that here in flyover country. Hope it stays that way.

Bear in mind that many of the total cases have not been closed, meaning some of them will/might yet die.

Not to mention the fact the majority of overseas flights land there.

Or it could be higher due to deaths not tested but assumed to not be.... and the fact it is based on total cases, not cases with an outcome.

Far from definitive numbers.

Its the progression that is concerning. Look at in log scale. A place with just a few cases could be in a bad way in a month.

Just a couple weeks or so ago, Health officials were telling people it was safe to take the subway.

Oops.

BUT many also have (or had) the desease and will never be tested due to their symptoms not being severe enough to test them.

I believe that many to be included in the total dead have died from other causes.

They are some that don't want these to be left out because they can get more funds if rate is higher.

We are still talking 98% survival rate - not that I believe the figures are at all accurate due to unknowns as stated in above posts.

So many people apparently are not tested, and many show no symptoms, or very mild ones that go untreated, even un-noticed. If anything, the survivability rate is probably even higher.

Everyone is hammering on deaths, cuz that's where the money is.

Still ain't going around licking door knobs, myself. smile
