Have a Stevens 44 1/2 and trying to plug the two holes on the tang that were provided for a tang peep sight. Thread is 8-32. None of my screw kits have that plug screw and a search;Brownells, Midway and others no help. Am I going to end up having to make two screws or does anyone know of a source I havn`t thought of ? Thanks,Joe

Making a couple filler screws out of any old 8-32 screw could be a fine time killer whilst under "house arrest" these days. A hacksaw, fine file/sand paper, fine jewelers file (for the slots), some cold blue, and time is all it would take.

gnoahhh,
I think you may be correct. True that these days all we have is Time. They`ve closed the beach here ,can`t surf fish so II`m missing the annual Pompano and Spanish Mackeral run. Closed the beach cause the Spring Breakers wanted to party and get close to each other. Go figure a bunch of young males and females under the influence wanting to get close to each other! I`m nitre bluing a bunch of screws for a couple other restorations 92SRC and a takedown 94 so better get busy and make a couple plugs to add to the pot.
