in so. Idaho. Small but very noticeable. It rocked my chair a little. It's the biggest we've had since the Borah quake in 83 but it was not even close to that one.

The plane I'm in was rocking a little bit. People are freaking out on Facebook... not a big deal to me, been through lots of them before.

Seems like it rocked a pretty large area. Wonder where the epicenter was?

Is Yellowstone still there? Is Sacramento now beachfront property?

Up here, SW of Boise 50 miles, near Ontario, I thought it felt a bit stronger than I remembered from '83.

The waves seemed to be of longer duration than I remembered from before. But then, that was nearly 40 years ago.

Any news as to the epicenter and amplitude yet?

Timbermaster: Indeed it has been reported from a very large area - maybe it WAS stronger than the initial guess I made of a 3.8 magnitude tremor?
Hope no one was harmed - it stopped our "grandfather clock".
What else is gonna happen?
Sheesh.

That's pretty close to the Borah quake in '83. That one shook things up pretty good.

That last one in '83 killed two kids in Challis as I remember. I think bricks or blocks from a collapsing wall hit them as they walked to school. I know it caused $millions in damages to roads, wells, and especially concrete lined irrigation ditches around Mackay.

I hope the local residents fared better this time.

Waiting to hear from our resident pistolero from that region.

70 miles west of Challis, closer to Stanley.

Not a lot of folks up there. Damage will hopefully be minor.

I felt it here, about 20 miles east of Helena MT.

Just a little swaying of the vertical blinds. Seemed like it lasted 5-10 seconds
