I bought a thousand count case of CCI No. 10 percussion caps. The tiny tins seemed inconvenient, so I emptied them all into a single, clean, Altoids tin, which was just right for all 1,000. So now I have these nice little tins, but what to do with them. They seem too nice to just toss. Any ideas?

Targets? Put money in and bury in backyard? Fill full of powder and nails and make a hand grenade?

Interactive targets for kids and bb guns or 22's Drill a hole and insert a string hang from a stand and let the kids shoot at them, I used to use screw off plastic coke bottle tops when I coached Rifle Team, Then explained the top was smaller than the target thus if they can hit the top, they can "shoot the black".

Use them to keep you crack in. I've been wondering where to keep it. Thanks.

I've used them for samples of bullets, both fired and unfired, also small gun screws I have left over, or extra depriming pins.

Do a bit of soldering and make them into earrings for your favorite girl.

I've got lots of tiny screws that have accumulated in compartments of my gun maintenance tackle box over these many decades. They will all fit into one of these.

I use the empty tins to store lubed patches in. Marked with a sharpie the thickness, etc. Alwasy carry tin full tin of patches when afield, which is 25+ patches. I carry ball and powder in a "speed loader" type tube, and enough for 10-shots. That'd be a lot of shots for a deer hunt.
I also carry a tin full of bore cleaning patches, usually lighted wetted with Windex. Just barely damp. Though I hardly ever use them.
Putting 1000 caps in one Altoids tin might be a tad risky? If you drop it and one goes of, they all going off? Probably not much of a risk, but fun to wathc on video!

Some good thoughts. Thanks. I like the lubed patch idea. Also, the explosive idea hadn't occurred to me.

Put some magnetic tape on the bottom side (outside) and it might hold all the screws inside the tin. Never tried it, just a thought.
