How did the Fed get all the details of everyone's bank account?

Tax refund direct deposit?

Not everyone has direct deposit from a government agency. If you are on social security, for example, many people have their monthly checks direct deposited into a checking or savings account so they are already set up. Many have their income tax refunds direct deposited also.

Those are the easy ones, but the .gov has everyone's mailing address who files taxes if a direct deposit is not in effect.

It's official. I missed the selfie deadline so I'm Maser's sock puppet because rene and the Polish half of the fubar twins have decided that I am.

That answers it for me. I haven't had a tax refund in 20 years. I'd forgot about Social Security direct deposit

If you have 'E Filed' your return the past two years......

Received a refund......they have your bank account deposit info....

IE...the routing & account # for your checking or savings

If you don't have direct deposit set up, they'll mail you a check. The IRS is supposed to have a web page set up soon so you can enter direct deposit info if they don't already have it or if you need to change it.

If you bank or conduct financial transactions with any government backed institution they've had your personal info for many many decades.

I've been filing direct with deposit with IRS and State since the 1990's.

They sent my refund this year to a debit card given to me by H&R Block, of which I still have about $500.00 on it. Do you suppose they will just load the $1,200.00 onto this card?

If you read the small print when you opened a bank account you'll see that you agreed to let the Feds make withdrawals (or deposits) anytime they want to.

The feds know every piece of mail and package you receive usps. You can sign up and they'll email you a pic of every letter and package before you get it. My neighbor used to work for NSA and said they still record every phone call, text, and email. And they can record every conversation near your phone whether it's on or not.

He had me turn my phone off and set it on the table and then we talked about buying hot tubes for about 15 minutes. I turned my phone back on and had hot tub ads on Facebook, google, and on my MSN account. He said that's just what private companies are doing. I had not done any searching for hot tubes. Only s conversation while my phone was off.
