Only on the "Fire do you see two threads running right next to each other, where on one the majority is saying a .22 centerfire is perfectly adequate for deer, and the other where most folks are saying a 25-06 is inadequate for deer and you need a .308.

I believe if you read the thread, you will realize the thread was more about long range ballistics than capability for deer....

The OP's question in the 25-06/.308 thread included asking about use on "whitetail sized game," and many responders addressed that question.

A 80 pound swamper Louisana whitetail is an entirely different animal than a 350 pound Manitoba corn fed deer. Even though they carry the same name. Hence, the different caliber argument.

Bipolar Disorder, more specifically the manic phase , probably applies more to the Campfire described "Rifle Looney"! The threads you describe probably reflect those with Multiple Personality Disorder, especially those that post and support BOTH arguments! Anti-Social Personality are those who commit crimes with their firearms or those on here, after reading their threats or rants on their posts, you wouldn't want to share a campfire with. Those who think their personal collections are going to make them wealthy beyond belief have the delusional components of psychosis! Those with gender issues or same sex infatuations have other manifestations that we have all been made aware of... lots of psychiatric disease among we the Campfire Members!!!

We could easily keep going...
Those with paranoid tendencies blot out a lot of serial #'s on their rifles and are infatuated with X's. Those with OCD disorder have never learned the lesson, the enemy of good is better and also like to "pick nits" on everything; likely monkeys in their last life. "Borderline" tendencies and narcissistic traits... lets not even go there!

Mr. "Stick, he is a complex one! I'm still of the opinion however that if you can sort it out, there is some real useful wisdom and information there. He is likely just pathologically shy, armed with a computer, and of course living in Paradise! I'd likely still buy him a cheeseburger and fry if given the opportunity! Lots of interesting (and good!) people.
