Very much so. Darn nice little shotgun. Very useful gauge and choke. Was it you?

No, my bird hunting is limited to a 28 gauge SxS these days.

I've got exactly that model, guage, bbl. length, and (originally) choke. Opened chokes to IC and Cyl. for quail hunting with steel 7s (unleaded shot now required in all CA hunting #@%^&&!). My go-to upland gun back in the canyons and boulders where I don't want to take my Savage 333 or my Gold Label. Good patterns with small steel shot and small birds (quail and those &*#@^^ chukars!).
I paid just that same price because the seller couldn't read and thought it was a recent "Stevens" made in Turkey. Best four bills you'll ever spend.
If you ever have a Valmet rechoked, be sure to mention to the 'smith that Finnish shotgun barrels are tougher than woodpecker lips....I had a 'smith get very heated with me because my old 330 12 guage (my son's now) ate one of his plain steel reamers!

Probably chrome lined bores that will eat a reamer. There is a method to remove the chrome for opening up but it is a big pain and the shop generally does not accept jobs of this nature if it is chrome lined.

No, I learned not to send chrome lined barrels out for choke opening when I sent an Antonio Zoli "Silver Hawk" SxS (no, it wasn't a Beretta of the same name) to Ahlman's and got it right back with the same tight-as-a-gnat's-tookus barrels. The Valmets just have really hard barrel tubes.
