The Redding dies I have for 6.5 manbun leave a ring on the 147 gr ELD. I think there is a seating stem that avoids this? Assume this one works? https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1018136829

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

The ring went away when I backed off about 1/2 gr on powder. Those are long bullets and it is possible to overfill the case.

Try admusting the seating die up a little where it isn't touching the shell holder, if your bullet is too long for your seater die?
that has worked for me when I was loading some for a friend or two...
until recently, I didn't own a Creedmoor.. but I've had dies for the round for a couple of years..picked them up on sale for like $10 to $12 off regular price...a set by Lee for like $20....

My ammo is plenty accurate enough, just don't like the ring left on the bullets after seating. Will try these suggestions and see what happens.

Realistically, a slight ring around the tip means nothing. I wouldn’t lose any sleep or waste any money over it.

Spin your VLD chamfer tool around the seating stem a couple times. You can also lap it with a bullet and valve grinding compound.....

I bought the eld stems. Simple.
Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

I have the Hornady custom dies for .260 Rem, and when I use the ELD bullets in it, I get the same ring. I went to buy an ELD stem, but no one has them in stock for .264 cal that I can find. I read on a Facebook reloading page, to use really sandpaper on the stem and it will go away. I have some 1500 grit sandpaper I plan on using on it.
