Doghunter12: I hope "Oregon John" has something that "fills your bill".
If not I highly recommend the Remington 700 VSF (Varmint Synthetic Fluted) in 17 Remington Fireball - like the one I bought new, several years ago.
This Rifle has been VERY accurate from "day one" for me.
I began shooting Remington "factory ammo" in it because brass was not available back then, just the factory ammo.
My loading log shows that on various days I fired a total of 5 (five) groups with it at 100 (one hundred) yards and the largest group (5 shot groups) measured .589" and that was on a "poor wind conditions" day.
Then later I began testing my handloads with Berger 25 grain bullets and this Rifle REALLY started to "shoot".
I could NOT be happier with my Remington 700 VSF!
If you can find one that appears to be in good condition and shot modestly I say "buy it", or I will.
I like EVERYTHING about my VSF - the fit, shape and finish of the stock, the finish on the metal, the crown, the trigger and certainly the accuracy and absolute lack of recoil on this heavier Rifle.
Best of luck in your search and BTT.

Jbrodie7: Thanks I headed over to "gunbreaker" and viewed that Rifle - it is the exact model I bought several years ago and the price is WAY above what I paid for mine when new.
Interesting - but I don't trust gunbreaker and never have - this does look like a number of bidders are in on the "bidding" - again if that can be trusted.
Thanks for the tip on the Rifle.
I better update my inventory/value list.

Yea it is definitely higher than when they were new but the 17 fireballs are bringing a lot of money right now. I have the VSF in 308 and did have a 22-250 and they are still around the 7-800 dollar range.

Jbrodie7: That is very interesting - the disparity in values between calibers.
I'm filing that away.
Thanks

I had a Rem VSF in 17FB a few years ago. The chamber was so big on it, you couldn't even hardly resize the brass in any die made. Pathetic gun-smithing...barrel coppered like crazy also. If you want something quality, build one, I have a 17FB reamer if you need one.

Showdog75: Which "model" are you inquiring about?
Is it a heavy barrel model or one of the sporter models?
The 700's usually come with a three or four "letter" part to the "model designation".
Like 700 BDL, 700 ADL, 700 PSS, 700 VSF, 700 VSSF, 700 VLS and on and on.
Let me know and I will try to venture an appraisal/guess.

My rifle is a Model 700 Limited, they were only made in 2007. It is stainless with a fluted barrel. I'll have to measure the barrel length.

They sold new for $850. I have one, sweet little rifle. Barrel profile is similar to an LVSF.

The floorplate is engraved with the Cartridge and 2007

Great to know we have an Off-icial appraiser here on the Campfire, LOFL
