RWS is the best in my book. Norma runs a very close second. Don't know spit about Lapua but many say it's good. Remchester about equal. I never had any issues with Federal but others don't like it. PPU has been good in anything I've used it in, S&B I don't know.

buy once fired, or buy a box of the brand you desire to try out .. factory loads...

my rifles on the other hand have been living just fine on Federal, Winchester and Remington...

I've used a bunch of Nosler brass in recent years and found it to be very good stuff.
On the other hand, I've used a lot of Winchester, Federal and Remington brass over the decades without any problems.
My oldest 270 is on its second barrel and there are 3 other 270's in the collection. It's a caliber that sees a lot of use.

If I were shooting a .270 nowadays I’d be running Lapua 30-06 brass through a .270 die.

Back in the day, when I was shooting the 270 almost exclusively, I used Winchester, Remington, and Federal brass, and never had a problem or saw any difference in any of it.

Nosler, that's the other brand I couldn't think of. I really don't think you could go wrong with about any of them. I like Remington for re-forming as it seems to have the least loss but otherwise....any should do just fine. Case prep will cover a multitude of sin.

I've run a little of everything and the only difference seems to be that some brands come all prepped and some others not. As Hondo said you can always run 30-06. I've converted a fair amount of milsurp -06 brass to 270 with no issues.

RWS is very good and usually will last the longest, Lapua if you don't mind reforming 30-06, Norma but they are softer, Nosler but some are made by Norma and some by other mfg. so hard to say if they are all similar to Norma, Starline, Sig, Jameson, Peterson these last four are supposed to be good but I have not used them, PPU brass is very tough and long lasting and usually fairly uniform. Winchester, Hornaday, Remington, Federal. This is my order of quality and preference but it can change with each lot. For years Winchester brass was just fine for hunting after sorting and prepping.

It depends on the rifle and accuracy goals if not too critical the PPU or once fired would be the economical way to go.

I use Norma in most cartridges I load for, but have used tons of Winchester brass too.

Murkydismal: I do NOT know who's 270 Winchester brass is the "best" but in my ultra-accurate Remington 700 Sendero I have been using Federal 270 Winchester brass since "day one" (2,003) - and it has served me very well indeed.

That is exactly what I have gravitated to just now. I also use Federal in 308 WCF & 3006, but use Rem in 280 and Hornady in 2506.

If I had not just stocked up on Federal for 270, 308, 3006 I would probably go to Hornady across the board.
