Even though I know its completely useless to argue any of this, it is the internet, and I'm on it, so...

No one has been lied to. This is a brand new disease they're making it up as it goes along. I haven't heard any health expert give anything but a range of possibilities as best the computer modeling could come up with, with a boat load of caveats from the get go. The predicted numbers ranged from quite low to very high. It was pointed out the biggest variable will be how close quartered the population will be, the disease transmits person to person that's the big variable.

So. For the most part the civilized world jumped on physical distancing very quickly. Some a little later than others. Some places like Iran and northern Italy both got it early and didn't do anything early. It was bad for them. But again most countries closed schools, airports, bars, restaurants, greatly limited crowd gathering and told everyone to stay 6 feet away.

So where are we today? Right at the low end of the forecast numbers, maybe even slightly lower than that. Because, action was taken and taken like never before.

Lies? No just as usual people with little knowledge (no one has more than little knowledge on this) ranting and raving that

a) we're all going to die
b) its all a hoax

And most people somewhere in the middle. Its been a monumental effort and we'll be paying for it for a long time and there will be serious fall out. But there are no lies just ranges of numbers given by health officials with a huge spread from the beginning. And aside from some bad hot spots, deaths on the low end of the modeling. I celebrate that. And I think saving 100s of thousands to millions of lives, mainly or elders lives was worth it.

By your model you layed out back in March we should be hitting on 18 April, 18 million casualties..

I hope after all this shakes out, the health care people will come up with a better response procedure for the next time. And we will have a next time.

As if the death rate is the only freaking NUMBER, input into the models, to arrive at the correct answer.

The freaking numbers ROLLED (peaked) on March 21.

The damn lockdown had ZERO result. The number of people getting infected had already started slowing down, before the lockdown was implemented (5-10 days before march 21). The very next day after the lockdowns were implemented, the numbers at hospitals testing positive started decreasing. That means the number infected was LESS, before the lockdown, 5-10 days (incubation time) before March 21.

CA, Fl, NY, Natl R (0) numbers peaked on March 21, so it was either the warm temperatures of spring, or herd immunity, or both contributing.

The R (0) got down to 1.5 and has been floating there, as has Sweden, who didn't have a lockdown and trash their economy.
