Police Arrest ‘Reopen’ Protester; Say Constitutionally Protected Rights ‘Non-Essential’On Tuesday, police in North Carolina’s capital city arrested at least one protester who had joined a peaceful protest outside the state’s General Assembly building to call on the governor to “reopen” the state. In explanation of why the protest was broken up and at least one demonstrator arrested, the Raleigh Police Department explained on Twitter that “protesting is a non-essential activity.”

One certainly has the right to protest, but need to stay 6'+ apart. as for re-opening the economy, until an effective vaccine is developed, tested, produced and widely distributed, the risk of re-ignition of Covid-19 is present (do we really want to repeat the past 2 months again?).

i still need to nail down the landowner's permission, but I want to take a nephew-in-law turkey hunting, and i have to drive 200 miles to do so.
the dnr is making some mealy mouth pronounciations about doing so closer to home. They are even amending purchased tags, unheard of, to encourage this practice.
