I have the big Rec Tec and highly recommend it. Set and forget a real easy machine!

I think I’d have to bag that. Maybe turn out the lights before she came in the room.

It's tough to beat the Yoder and Cookshack FEC series pellet smokers. Rec Tec's are nice, but they are only sold online and I like having a local dealer if possible. I also have a couple Green Egg's and they are excellent all around cookers and are just as "set and forget" especially when using a Digi-Q controller. The only downside of the BGE in my opinion is the amount of grate area when cooking for large groups.

Whatever. No one believes you actually have a BGE, Hibachi Flave.

The REC TEC Grill is made in China, however, the heart and soul of the grill (the computer) is made here in the USA. The powder coat is also made in the USA and the final assembly along with quality control takes place at the REC TEC Grill facility in Georgia.

We have a Rectec 700 bull that keeps very accurate temps , WIFI start and cook monitoring makes it pretty much bullet proof, and great for long cooks........+ the 6 year warranty is nice just in case!

How does it do in the cold? I'd likely use this in temps below 0.

I live in southern NM so ..............we have to determine what is cold??????I have cooked on it when it was mid 20's and up and it only uses a few more pellets. Overall I have NO complaints. We used it today to smoke bacon and it is grand!
To say I am pleased with the machine is an understatement have been cooking on it for 3 years and if a tornado got it tomorrow I would buy another in a flash.

That I can't answer, you would likely want to use Rectecs insulated blanket!

I think I'm set on the MAK. Everything I've read about them indicates that is the way to going you're willing to spend the money.

I hear lots of good things about the Rec Tec units. I’ve also heard a lot of good things on the Yoder.

Agreed. The MAKs are supposed to be in a whole different league though.
