I have a sako 75 in 375 H+H and a Nikon monarch 2-7-32 scope. Should that make a good candidate. The scope is in limbo right now, so I thought I might mount it and see if I like it.
Any opinions are welcome.
Thanks Erich

I've got a 2.5X20 Leupold Ultralight with heavy duplex on mine.
I've yet to see a reason why that's not a good choice.

I would think it will work well if it stays together.

I have a 1.75-6 Leupold on my Talkeetna at the moment and it is OK except I got the Heavy duplex reticle and it is not as useful for that reason. It seems to work fine for a DG scope but most of the time I use it for deer, elk, potshots at coyotes.

I am going to try a 2.5-8 x36 Leupold for a while.

Using a Leica 2.5-10x42 ERi with a #4-ish reticle on my M70.
Don’t think any suggestions so far are wrong.

I have really liked the 1.5x6 Leupold. My thought was to have a variable that even on max would still allow a close shot. The various straight tubed 2.5-3x are also ideal. But a 375 can hold it's own out to 300 or more yards so the variables that go to 5-7x are a plus. Another plus on something like the German #4 reticle or a heavy duplex. Go for reliability first optic precision second.

That's what I'd pick.

I guess I'm the odd man out. I have a 4 1/2-30X50 on my .375. Before that I had a 4-16X40.

I'm going to try it and see what happens. I have mounted it on many rifle over the twenty years I've owned that scope. But never a 375. If it comes apart I'll try again.
Thanks for the help.

Like you I like something useful close up and far away. Your 2-7 Nikon should work great, Mine has worn a 1.5-5 Leupold, 2.5-8 Leupold and 1.5-6 Kahles. Shots from up close to close to 400 yards including 3 cape buffalo, coyotes and deer.

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

Nothing wrong with the power range of the scope you mentioned. I had one years ago but can't remember much about it. I don't think I've ever had a Monarch lose zero but I haven't beaten on them enough to really test. The 4x40 was one of my favorite scopes.

If you don't mind the $ and decide to look at other scopes, I think the NX8 1-8 is about Nirvana on a .375 or AR. The $ is what it is though.....

ZEISS VICTORY HT 1.5– 6x42 is a great one. I got mine used, as they are sorta pricey. Great low light performance.

This one on my modified NH M-70 .375 H&H. Bigger and bulkier than the typical 1.5-5x20 Leupold, but much better low light performance.

I had one of those, #4 with FireDot. I sold it. The #4 covered too much target for 300 yd shooting, IMO.

That scope has great glass. If getting another, I'd go with the duplex and FireDot. The illuminated reticle is all you need in low light and the duplex is better for LR shooting. At 6X, one can do some LR shooting when needed. With FireDot, you don't need the #4, better off without it.

IMO.
