Killed this one about 8 am this morning.
Forgot phone at the house.
That COE bird I hunted x2 before.
Another one was coming in 180° opposite.
Was checking him out with bino,s bout 250 yds out
Fugging huge bird , made this big one look small.
This one got in shooting range 1st.
Hunt the T Rex sized one the next morning after it rains at night.
Spent 3.5 shell for size reference.
1 more Tn tag left.......

The ole 835 ulti mag POS shotgun hammering birds.
Sure glad that dredded forearm rattle urban legend schitt people always say from their experiences aint scaring away birds for me...

LOL!!!!!

Congrats. Nice bird!

I’m still sitting in the woods right now. Worked 2 birds early, but they were staying out on a piece I do not have permission on. Sitting right now in a strut zone I been seeing a tom in pretty regularly!!

Mossberg rattle while annoying, has never bothered me. Not seen many mossberg that weren’t straight killers!

I wish you had a camera on your gun so you could record calling them in. It's usually not to hard to call Rios in, but I hear the easterns are a real challenge.

Wish I had my phone.
That fugging T Rex bird coming in from the left.
Coulda got some 4x pics of him intially.

Only 1 hen hit the field this morning.
Warm night
Was kinda strange not seeing others.
One I killed was gobbling on the roost alot.
The T rex was silent this morning on roost.
But the 1 hen kept looking back left and eventually meandered off.
Figured a Tom was behind her somewhere like other times hens act like that, just couldnt see one , lots of rolling terrian.
Bout 30 mins after she left.
I gave out a series of loud hen assembly yelps and a couple of excited cackles .
T rex gobbled about 250 or so yards out .
Got the binos on him .
Moving in towards me.
Then about 5 mins later this one from the right gobbled and was coming in fast.
He got within shooting range 1st.

Me and T rex will see some mornings, now that I know he is in that area and what he looks like.

Nice birds! Ours are being very quite now. 14 degree temps in the mornings, clouds and wind are not helping. Weather man says sunshine and highs in the 70's next week. I plan to be out there.

At Ft Campbell and Soldiers???
Hell No....

However.......
At the .gov fuggs I know that work the hunting and fishing unit and range control that are milking this C19 schitt to do less than they do to begin with.
The ones who made check in and tagging 100% no human interaction at all under FP Bravo initially.
The same ones that raised no common sense factor objections as to how a hunter by themselves in the woods spreads C19? when it elevated to FP Charlie.
The same ones that didnt reply to my email for an explanation and the specific annex that applies to hunting shutting down per the force protection opord that raises the threat level to FP Charlie.

If that is what you are asking.
Then the answer is a huge F,U,C,K YES!!!

Im sure many others have asked also.
And not gotten a reply either.

Its akin to these Govenors in some of these states doing off the cuff non sensical B.S.

Little masters of their own universe schitt.
Adding to schitt unquestioned by minons below them or anyone above them giving a fugg.

LOL!!!

It is what it is.

Supposedly FP Charlie is up for review 30 april.

Goes down to Bravo maybe...
Then will have about 10 or 11 days of FTCKY spring turkey season left.
Cause they sure in as fugg wont adjust it any.

Survivors from this year not getting whacked will translate into age and size progression and maybe a limit of 3 next year.
So that is a positive from it all in my way of thinking.

Turkey slayer renegade, I've been wondering, how to you cut and preserve those spurs? Pruning shears and salt?

I saw one of your displays of spurs and fans. Impressive.

Let em dry awhile

Then 30 tpi hack saw em about 1/4 to 1/2 inch on either side of the spur, punch out the marrow and leg tendon, little salt in the holes.

I need to do a fan.
Hopefully I can get that TRex bird I seen today.
He is worthy of being put up on display.
Got one fan on the man cave wall that is 27"
Got a center peice beard from # 2 this year.
Thought I was gonna break the 12 inch barrier with him.
He was close...
11 5/8ths "
Got a couple of 10.5,s to put on either side of it.
Gonna have to Ebay the brass toned fan holder I use.
Aint seen em around in awhile.

Damn Rene the Turkey Slayer!! Congratulations.

I'm so jealous. I've seen birds strutting around here for at least a month already but as Mark said we can't hunt them till May 2nd. By then a whole lot of guys are out there practice calling to them so they're call shy by season.

Anyway, glad you're having an awesome season, keep it up.
