at a LGS. It was on consignment for $795.00. It was mannlicher stocked chambered in 7mm Magnum. Conservatively a 95% gun. Is that a good price? It must kick like a mule though. What years were they manufactured with the 98 Mauser styled action?

Not sure on the value, but I remember the Mannlichers are worth more.

It’s a good price, I had a collection of them at one time. Recoil is no worse than a long barrel. You will clear everyone out from the benches next to you at the gun range. They were made in 338 and 375 also.

They were as accurate as the long barrels.

Never seen one built on the FN action with a FL stock, but who knows? I briefly owned a Sako High Power .30/06 made sometime before they began making their own LAs. It was, like all the various FNs I've had, a good solid rifle, and decently accurate without any fussing around trying to find the magic load.

One of my suppliers has a nice LA '06 right now for $850. I thought about it pretty hard, but finally went with another FN. Can't go far wrong with either one.

What fresh Hell is this?

It could be. I made an offer, waiting to hear an answer. it's a real nice piece, 95% condition or better. It's definitely an FN Receiver and bolt. I saw the FN logo on the left receiver rail.

Well, I offered $700.00 for the rifle and the consignor said ok. So, $700.00 out the door. I can't pick it up until Friday (damned Covid 19) but I can't wait.

Wow! What length barrel?

My first centrefire was a Finnbear 270. Nice rifle but a bit heavy
