And I was hoping for small body gravitational forces...

the solution set given is for linearized systems, its a snapshot of the relations in time
but the system can be used for a basis for non-linear dynamic models.
the question becomes how much information does the system need to re-organize itself.
once determined, by whatever process, will it seek a series of attractors, usually what is called order or continue looking for them in what is called chaos (math term is bifurcation)
such as a non linear system seen in electronics regularly, called hysteresis, or in mechanics as gear slippage.
now go to the next level of complexity called Hopf bifurcation, which is an example of cellular glycolysis,

The frequency of a pendulum is determined by mass vs length. The stroke of the swing may change, but the frequency remains the same.
On a pendulum clock, the clock is tuned by adjusting the position of a weight on the pendulum.
Knowing this, each ball on its different length string has a different frequency. For you guys who went past Physics 101....is there anything happening here, other than visual waves formed as the positions of the balls coincide due to different frequencies?
It does make for a damned cool visual presentation.

Interesting and educative - so thanks - but no chaos was evident.
