Cool, nice area. Theres a lot of houses over there now. I did a three day hike on the pipeline to that ATV trail that ties into that road along little Salcha. I was trying to get back to the highway.

There's some MASSIVE spruce treees over that way, aye?

You ever miss the brutally cold winters?

Don’t miss those -50 interior winters; just this time of year and the summers.

When temp drop below zero here, it gets dirt of brutal for me anymore. But, we don’t have that dry cold!

Ha! I don't blame yah. Dead of winter, even the Malamutes look miserable some mornings.

My low point is usually using the outhouse at 40 below. Ridiculous.

I got standards though, to heck with a honey bucket.

If 30-40 below for weeks your, ass becomes as accurate as robin Hood stacking arrows.

Get this frozen poopsicle that stacks all the way to the seat.

Gotta flip outhouse over, dump 2 gallons of gas down the hole, bunch ah firewood and light er off.

Now this ain't a bonfire you'll invite your neighbors over to cook Smores.

That's a below zero low point.

Well, that was plenty graphic!

I just saw a Stihl 170 on sale here for $159.

That's probably all I need. But that MS 261 sure was nice, and about $569. Might just own both one day.

I have the 180, and I have to say it is kind of impressive for what it is. I'm a weakling, and I can one hand it as far up as I can reach, while it cuts way faster a baby saw should. Can't imagine the 170 is that much different, and at $159 for a brand new saw, I'd have to try it.

I had to go back and re-read this. After extensive innernet research, I decided maybe I'd try Stihl again. Husky had bad reviews for starting, and most expensive, but the S that I was maybe interested in seems to start OK, now. Advertised that way, anyway.

3 S.. dealers in town- no one had the saw. Also, nowhere did I see S listed in the top 5 or 6 saws.... Hmmmm.

Took me 3 days and tries to get into HD to buy one of the 2 40cc Echos with 18 inch bar.they had in stock. I will NOT wait in no stinking CV19 line... No line 15 minutes before closing time last night, on our way back through Kenai from a float trip, so they got my $350 (with tax) anyway.
