It was originally on a 1922 Obernerdorf sporting mauser and comes from the same era.

I shot a 2" group at 100 yds using this scope on the sporting Mauser.

Looking at some old import catalogues, the scopes sold for $37 back in 1933. That would be over $1800 in today's money.

In addition to sporting rifle use, they were used in World War 1.

Ones with glass of lesser condition than this example, routinely sell for over a grand on guns international.

Tube most likely is in millimeters probably 26mm, but I an no expert

Standard 1 inch rings should work fine.

No, they won't.

But Burris Signature rings with the plastic inserts might.

I don't know about Burris Sig , but if you measured 26 mm you will need 26mm rings

1 inch rings should be 2.54 or so mm

What about lapping out a set of one inch rings?

This is minisule diffirence of material we're talking about here.

I took a new set of weaver aluminum rings out of the carton, they slipped over the scope tube with no pressure. They made full contact. I think the tolerances of some one inch scope rings are more generous than some may think

There are also inexpensive 26mm to 30mm bushings that will allow use with 30mm rings for not a lot of money. Neat scope. GLWYS !

Orion, thanks. Yes a very interesting scope.The clarity and brightness of the glass is a bit surprising. I wish I had time to do a write-up, thoroughly comparing it to modern scopes.

A dollar in 1933 equals $19.86 in today's currency. $37.00 would be $734.82. And that would be for a brand new scope. I think I will stick with my Zeiss and Hensoldt Zielkleins ($38.00 in 1939).
