They are pretty low. I drag pegs like crazy. I have a Shadow Phantom and a little 2018 Rebel 300. If I were replacing the 750 I'd go with the HD street 750. HD supplied Street 500's for the class, I am not sure if the 500 has the same transmission as the 750, Road Glide, Fat Boy or the others I have test rode but the 500's transmission sucked A$$, very clunky and almost impossible to hit neutral without shutting it off.

You`ll outgrow the Shadow pretty quick.
This. Sportbikes are all about horsepower, and spin like 12,000 rpm redlines to get it. Cruisers are all about the joy of low rpm torque, which requires more displacement if you want more of it. I think I can already guess what you’ll be shopping for on your 61st birthday 🙂 You can't make this general statement, it's simply wrong and the Ninja 1000 ABS is a perfect example, excellent low and mid-range torque.

Check out this site, you can select different bikes and input your height and inseam and it calculates rider position but it does not have input for wingspan but still provides good data. http://cycle-ergo.com/

Anyone ever ride one of the Janus bikes. Only ever saw them on the 'putter.
Look like they would be neat for short tripping, type laid back riding. USA made, mostly. China engine.
I like the look, the company story reeks of hipster, metrosexual, rich kids. I don't think anyone in their "factory" gets dirty. Everything is outsourced, assembly is all they do. If they actually do that.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

And boring as heck on a nice day on a nice backroad just loafing along at 30 -40 mph with a woman on the back, motor sounding about like a Honda Accord, as compared to the companiable rythm, vibration and and rumble of a v-twin. YMMV.

I had a Honda shadow years ago. It was a great motorcycle. You need to do the math on the value with the saddle bags, jacket and helmet but as for the motorcycle itself, they are pretty good all around motorcycles. 20,000 is close to average for it's age.
kwg Thanks. Average price I’m seeing on the internet classified around here is $3000 to $3400 with 40 to 50 thousand miles. IMHO you're smart starting off with a smaller, light bike since it's been that long ago that you rode.. Also, IMHO, the bike is a good one, the other stuff helps BUT I'd ditch the helmet and get one of your own...

2500 seems a bit steep to me. Do some home work and see what used bikes are going for in your area. On the upside, Honda’s generally run for ever.

Motorcycle and dating advice from a guy with no motorcycle and no woman. Makes total sense.

Nothing mc related added onto the deal is worth anymore $ . A used bike is a hard sale especially one with 20k on it unless it is an HD evwn then you almost have to give them away.
