Looking for a hard sided camper for elk hunting and mountain camping. Want it to sleep 4 people and prefer it no bigger than 16 foot. Any brands you would recommend or stay clear of? Any good dealers or places to purchase? I was looking at a Jayco Hummingbird. Would like a 2016 or newer. Thanks

Bought this one yesterday for 4400.00. It’s 28 foot long. I have a 20’ at deer lease. There isn’t hardly room for two people in it, much less 4. pet fish names male

That's smaller than a pop-up. You may want to consider one in the 22' to 24' range. Also, for mountain camping, make sure your trailer is cold weather certified. Something like an Arctic Cat. I've had a Jayco 24' up in Colorado during third season and we could not get it warm at night. Good luck.

Suggestion from many years of elk season camping with a smaller camper. We set up a 10' x 10' pop up gazebo with the fabric side kit. Added a folding table, camp chairs, and propane stove. Kept the coffee pot on and did a lot of our cooking there. On evenings when too cold to sit around the campfire, it was a good place to hang out. A Big Buddy portable heater kept it comfortable. Just tie it down well.

Sleeps 4 better be the wife and kids/grandkids, anyone else needs their own trailer or tent. My buddies and I go elk hunting, even to colorado, we each pull our own trailer. My nose and ears can't get far enough away from them bastards at night in any size trailer.

Put a skirting around the bottom in cold weather. I added the twist snaps and put a canvas skirt on mine. It helps keep the trailer much warmer! Mine is twenty six feet long and works well for two hunters. Hope this helps!

When they say four season, they don't say where that fourth season is. They are talking about low 30s. For more a serious hunting camper, a cargo trailer, bunk beds and either a wood or diesel stove.
You can hunt longer with wind at your back

I've used just about everything to camp in from tents to Silver Eagle motorcoaches they all suk. Right now I have a 42' with two slideouts at the deer lease. I have skirting around the bottom and with the propane furnace blasting hot air it stays 70ish inside on a night in the 20s but it cools off real quick as soon as the furnace quits running...I do better with a couple small electric heaters running non stop. Even if you keep it warm inside you need to stop your water source from freezing up...once the internal tank freezes you got problems unless you can put it in a heated garage to thaw out over winter. I have a shallow well pump ontop of a 300 gal ibc tote with a heat tape wrapped around pump and water line into camper's city water hookup.
