This could be disturbing (from Drudge): If you've had Covid19, even if completely recovered, the Military won't take you. https://www.militarytimes.com/news/...vivors-banned-from-joining-the-military/Seems they feel this virus could be different.

Too bad they didn't have Covid-19 during the Vietnam War. You could have caught it deliberately and been exempt from the draft. People under 25 almost never die of it.
Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

Only thing I can think of is this is a temporary abundance of caution, how can you quarantine a ship or installation if the virus is dormant in the personnel? Worse case scenario would be they know more about this virus than has been put out.

If that rule stands, we are going to run damned short of persons eligible for service in a couple or three years. Unless they continue to accept asymptomatic survivors. But blood tests for antibodies will disqualify a large segment of the population.

This is veeeeeeery peculiar . Is there precedence for this? Any other illness treated as such?
Quit giving in inch by inch then looking back to lament the mile behind ya and wonder how to preserve those few feet left in front of ya. They'll never stop until they're stopped. That's a fact.

Another uniformed idiotic post from DJS Did you conduct training for the military? SEALS? Delta Force? I had the chicken pox, measles, the flu as a child but still graduated first in my class in basic training and airborne. They should have banned me from service I guess According to DJS we should allow weak citizens with weak immune systems in the military so china can use biological weapons more effectively

Seems like having troops with immunity would be an advantage, not a disadvantage.
This won't stand.

From the OP's link:
"If an applicant fails screening, according to the memo, they wonβt be tested, but they can return in 14 days if theyβre symptom-free. Anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 will have to wait until 28 days after diagnosis to report to MEPS."

So a month later you go back to MEPS and...... During the medical history interview or examination, a history of COVID-19, confirmed by either a laboratory test or a clinician diagnosis,Is permanently disqualifying.this in an article in the Military Times headed βCoronavirus survivors banned from joining the military.β OK, Iβll βfess up; Iβm having Interpretation problems.

Army lies as itβs called..
Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

Army lies as itβs called.. Exactly this! Military Times is not much more than a military-centric tabloid. This is a temporary correction to avoid COVID outbreaks in training facilities. The other thing is, a permanent disqualification is not necessarily a permanent thing. Evals, waivers, and such are.
