I bought one of those in 1976 at a membership store; paid $135 IIRC. Still have it and use it regularly in the yard, but I don't carry the heavy bugger around my neck anymore. Only binocular I had for decades. The case fell apart, the eye cups are cracked, and I lost the eyepiece covers long ago, but it soldiers on.
For some reason, I've had to change the settings on the individual-focus eyepieces from what it was back in the day.....hmmmm.
My sons bought me a Vortex Diamondback 10x42 a few years ago, and it's noticeable better than the old Swift, if not Alpha glass. I was especially impressed with the color rendition while looking at birds. Can't imagine what the view through a top-tier glass must look like. Coatings and glass formulas have come a long way in 40-odd years I suppose.
