Drilling a wood riser for sight mount holes #14859968 05/08/20

OP sscoyote Campfire Regular S Joined: Sep 2005 Posts: 1,716	Have drilled and tapped several older recurves for sight holes, but every time I do it it seems to wrip the wood a bit as I drill it. Any ideas on how to drill a cleaner hole?

DCR48 Campfire Regular D Joined: Aug 2008 Posts: 974 south texas	Wax or bar soap on the drill bit turning slowly. Make a stop on the drill bit out of tape. Clear debris out of drill bit often. Work slowly.
