What does lamb taste like, anything comparable? I've never had it. The only time I was around it it smelled like pee boiling. It was done.on the.stove top in some kind of sauce. Couldn't make myself taste it. 🤮

Tex, lamb is "fatty" for sure, rich flavoured & tender if the cuts are handled the right way.

Lots of people, mistakenly refer to it as "gamey". Can't make that association my self.

We love it, it was the most affordable meat, when we were growing up in Australia.

Cheaper than pork even in the late 60s & 70s.

Never have I had any, that smelled like "boiling pee" though !

I should had added, it was a full grown sheep not a lamb. While it was cooking it smelled like a live billy goat.

Pot Pie, Started with a little oil in the pan for onions, added portabella mushrooms, when that cooked I added 4 TBL butter, about 1/4 cup flour then some cream and chicken stock. Brought back to a simmer and in with the pulled chicken, Poured it all into a baking dish and put a puff pastry across the top with steam holes. Think I'm starting to get these pot pies figured out, but they need to be thinner to bring up the ratio of pastry to filling.

Whole rotisserie chicken
2 large portabellas
2 medium yellow onions
4 tbl butter
1/4 cup flour
splash of cream
2 cups chicken broth
1 puff pastry
2 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder, because I didn't have fresh garlic
and some thyme.

Starting with caprese, our version at least. One of my top 3 favorite salads. This and broccoli salad are in a tie for first. ...
