Idaho, trust me, that beer tasted so good I decided to have another!

You guys are a full month ahead of us growth-wise regarding crops. Early planted spring wheat is just starting to sprout, guys are just now planting a little corn.

Alfalfa is about 3-6" tall.

Dwayne, my dad carries a fencing pliers on his saddle as well. They are a handy tool.

I love the Leatherman. Use it all the time everyday,

Plains, if I had driven another 5-10 seconds a torch would have been required, that or a cordless hand grinder with a cut off wheel. Luckily it wasn't uber terrible.

Salty, I like that logic!

Sam, Moore Maker puts out small fence pliers ~ 9" long, instead of 12" +.
They carry well, and work well for smaller jobs.

I can relate. Wife has an old old wood tool box that she uses for a blanket chest. Top is a single plank about 30” wide that broke right down the middle. Had it all clamped up to glue back together tonight and couldn’t get it to line up with less than a 1/4 inch gap as it was so warped. Mixed up some epoxy, died it black and started fileting in the gap when i knocked the whole container over. Wet epoxy all over my hands which wasn’t bad until 30 minutes later I realized I’ve got a bad habit of running my fingers through my hair when I’m thinking

You need to learn the Zero/Dimocrap Ag plan. Let grass grow, let cows go. Haul to sale, make money without fail. Schiett. Why complicate things? Life is good.

BTW, where da fughk is my steak. wink

Had a day like that a while back. Found some fence with the shredder/mower. Drove it back to the truck and proceeded cutting it all back out. Found that it wasn’t only fence but someone misplaced a piece of cattle panel in the field too. Finally got it all cut and pulled out. All scratched up and bleeding and pissed. My buddy decided he’d go finish the job and took of on the tractor. Made a round about 30 feet from me and found a damned extension cord. I tried to get out of the way when I heard something, but that broken cord schit whipped me across the back of the legs like you can’t imagine. I said fugg it and went home. It was that or set the whole damned place on fire.

Some days are just like that I guess.

Back in the sixties and early seventies, we did not dare put corn seed in the ground before May 10. It was sure to get frozen if you did. And there was several thousand acres of apple orchards about an hour north of me that thrived through the thirties and forties, but froze out and went out of business in the fifties.

There was the year, about '88, I had sweet corn knee high in my garden by HS graduation night, last week of May. It froze hard, about 27 degrees that night, and wiped out all the field corn for miles. But I saved my 1/4 acre garden by covering it with lawn sprinklers for the night.

One thing is assured. Climate is constantly changing on this big blue marble. And not much we can do about it.

I purchased a boat in Idaho Falls Monday before last. There was still snow drifted on the North side of the hills just outside of town. The seller said elevation was about 5000'. The Boise valley is the banana belt of Idaho.

Sounds like you should have YouTubed yourself and got yourself a leatherman sponsorship.

Years ago, i backed a brush hog into a corner of tall weeds, turned on the PTO, and set it down.
Right on top of a piece of concrete re-mesh - Lord, what a wreck cutting that all out from under the mower!!!
I still cuss whoever threw that into that corner!

Getting behind with work is annoying and incredibly frustrating.

Dwayne, I felt like such an idiot after the fence mess. Guess I better start carrying a fencing pliers in the tractor!

That Leatherman is a tough little sonuvabitch.

Hahaha! Dont feel too bad.

I was combining and couldn't get any seed in the ground.

G'night sammo.

Enjoy your day tomorrow.

Corn planting already? Must be nice. I can't even think about it until the end of the month holiday, and then I hope it doesn't come up too quick. Last frost last year was June 9.

What kind of farmer are you that you don't have a fencing tool, a hammer, a pair of sidecutters and/or slipjoint pliers on a tractor? Should have some staples also. Length of logging chain.

Of course maybe my dad/grandpa were the strange ones. Sometimes I felt I never touched the tractor floorboards for all the gear floating around. But we had the makings to cut that fence off the equipment! No Leatherman in those days.

I hope your day improves Sam.
