Will glass bedding the forearm of a num 1 enhance accuracy, or do nothing?.

I tried that on several #1s. If it helped the poor accuracy, it was not noticeable. Had four #1s and never got one of them to decent accuracy. And I spent a lot trying.

I free float the fore end in relation to the barrel, and bed the fore end to the fore end hanger. After that, torque on the fore end screw is not critical since the fore end never touches the barrel. After this, modifying the hammer into a "speed hammer" and installing a Jard trigger, my 6.5x 55 K1A went from 1.25" to 1.5" @ 100 yds. to consistently under 1" with factory ammunition, I think a lighter hammer is important to No.1 accuracy. That heavy factory hammer coming to an abrupt stop, shakes the whole rifle. RJ.
