Really don't a scope on my 22s. Maybe a Docter/Fastfire or just a ghostring. Money wise I know the ghosting in much less money and less troublesome also. What do you guys use?

Depends on what range you are planning to shoot at and your eyes. At 72, I can still shoot well with receiver sights (peeps) in good light, not so well in poor conditions. One of my favorite rifles is a 10-22 that I mounted an M1 Carbine rear sight on.

A good peep sight with a sharp front sight will go a long way toward solving your problem. I have a BSA Model 13 with the original BSA target sights, which include a disk with various sized holes in it and I find it works very well indeed. At 50 yards on a .22 rimfire target, I'm giving up about 1/2 inch in group size to a scope.

It would help if you told us the exact make and model of the rifle. It's impossible to recommend a specific sight without knowing what rifle it's to go on.

Charlie,
A peep sight with a larger hole should work for you. Fiber optic front sights have helped me acquire the front sight, YMMV.
I've got several red dot sights. The Fastfire 3 is the smallest (the fastfire 1 & I believe the FF2 were not water-resistant, the FF3 is the only one that you can change the battery without taking the sight off of the gun). I have a couple of the Bushnell TRS25 red dots and like them. Before you spend any money on a red dot, try a couple at your dealer... If you have un-corrected astigmatism instead of a round dot you will see an irregular shaped/flared red splash.
Best of luck,
Jerry

Everyone's eyes are different. I find a square Patridge front blade easier to hold consistently with than any bead, F.O. or not, flat-faced or the dreaded round-faced bead. Williams makes aperture sight solutions for a lot of guns. I've cobbled together a few using a peep blade on an open sight base and like them pretty well, but a receiver sight is faster.
Red dots are good if your vision allows a clear dot without flare. I have a 1x prism that's also good and lets you focus the eyepiece just like a regular scope, but they ain't cheap and pretty much look like a short scope.
What fresh Hell is this?

Look at the XS sights. Peep in the rear and ramp with white line in the front. I have some on a 10/22 and really like them.

Make it easy and go with the Doctor/Fastfire option.

Another vote for the Williams Firesight. Came with a fairly large screw in aperture. Thought the aperture was too big for reasonable accuracy. Wrong, works good enough for me; 76 years, 20/40 vision,. Makes a great plinker out to 50 yards and is surprisingly accurate at 25 yards. Light wt., fast target acquisition. Use plenty of loc tite on receiver sight screws. Mine's on a 10-22. $40 a couple of years ago.

I recently put a Williams fire sight ghost ring on my muzzleloaders. It work better than the open sights and I like it but theres no good "fix" for old eyes.
