Which specific model or models of Tikka .22-250 come in the 1:8 twist? I'm seeing their Lite SS on some of the on-line dealer sites but I can't find that spec on the Tikka website.
Ans speaking of, who else makes a 1:8 .22-250? IIRC Ruger made a special run of Predators or maybe standard RAR's for Whittaker but those are sold out.
Jim, I'm not sure if the 8" twist model is still being made by Tikka. If I'm correct, the RAR is still offered in an 8" twist. Additionally, the Browning X-Bolt is offered in a 9" twist and a left handed configuration.
I just loaded some 60 v max over 40.5 grains of superformance. Hornady brass with ww primers. runs only 3380 out of my 22 inch tikka but it shoot about .6 no matter how many rounds I put in the group.
I shoot 75 ELD's at 3150fps outta more than a few 21" 223AI's.

Circling back around on this. I want to try some Speer 75 gr Gold Dots with the Tikka. Has anyone tried these and what is your load? I have RL-15, H414 and RL-16 to try.
75 gr. Hornady short barreled rifle (SBR) TAP bullets that were surplus at MidwayUSA. They're not in the Hornady bullet catalog. Midway listed them as 80 gr., but they actually weighed 75 gr. They're designed for the tactical .223, should be pretty effective at .22-250 speeds. So far, haven't shot anything yet, too many other projects.
They really grouped well in my 8 twist Shilen .22-250. Not too sleek, not my choice for long range. Should make quite a "dent" in the biggest hog..

Any updated info on these 1:8 twist Tikka loads? I dont have any of the RL powders but I do have H4350 and lots of Varget to try. I have some 75 gr Amax, 77gr Nosler and 69gr Nosler. Thanks
Good results for me with H414 and the 75ELD-M. I want to check it for pressure this summer when it gets hot. May also play with RL-15 and H4350 just to see.
It wasn’t a Tikka, but when I was shooting an 8” twist 22-250, it’s favorite load by far, was R15 pushing the 75gr Amax to 3200. That load would should sub 3” 5 shot groups at 700 yards. It was amazing.
