Ok, can anybody tell me if they were successful in getting a Wyoming bighorn sheep tag, and if so how many points it took? My 20th year applying and still nothing. I put in for area 5 but don't know if that is the best, just because they have the most tags. At 65 I believe I can still do the hunt but if it takes another 5 years, who knows. smile

Thanks

Huntin' Fool says 67% of folks with 20 NR pts. scored a tag LAST year in Area 5. So, LAST year 21 points got you a tag for sure.

With point creep, you probably had a 50% chance, or worse, with 20 points in this year's draw.

You're so close - don't give up hope and stay in shape for when you DO draw.

Oh I am not giving up. Working out 5 days a week right now but would have kicked that into high gear if they had kept my money this year!!! Thanks for the info

Area 5 is your best bet. Continue with that.

Is there an outfitter/guide that hunts clients in area 5?

Pretty sure there are some good outfitters in 5 for sheep.
Had 2 resident friends draw that rea last year and they took 2 nice rams on DIY hunts, no horses. They had grizzly issues on their hunt but no attack.
The max PP holders need to put in for the DIY areas and that would open up some spots for you less than max folks.
