Great trip and report. I've been waiting on this since you started in with the goats. Pretty cool to pack out a goat with goats.

The pictures of the goats just hanging around you and following you are awesome.

That’s baa-aa-aa-aad azz!
Sorry. Couldn’t help it. Lol.

Really cool trip. Looks like the goats just take it all in stride.

I’m sure they just browse as you go? Any supplemental feed? How do you haul them, little stock trailer?

I’m really hoping ExBio responds with, “nah, they all ride in the back of the truck”. Seven big azz goats could fit easy in a long bed.

They all do ride in the back of my truck. Can’t get a stock trailer to lots of good trailheads so we found a rack on Craigslist and built some rails for it to attach to. They are getting a bit big for my 6.5 foot bed f150. There’s enough space but the truck is starting to squat.

No feed needed this time of year, but maybe if we did this in a later season. But they still prefer to browse so I would probably just give them more time to feed as needed. So yeah they will browse when we stop and morning and evening.

Sounds like it was a blast.

Not skittish at all, I did tie them up for the final stock, except for one, but I do shoot near them on occasion and their instinct is to run to me for help. My partner said they just peeked their ears up at the shot when I was 20-30 yards above.

It's a lot of work to put together a trip report like that. Thanks for doing so.

What a great story! As a mostly solo hunter I am thinking extended trips, what is the longest excursion you all have attempted? Any goat is a good goat,
