I found a really nice camper, lay out is great , clean... except for one problem. Half the floor is soft. So has anyone every replaced the subfloor? I can get it for a decent price.

I think buying a camper that needs a floor replaced because of a low price would be like buying a case of the shingles because they were marked down.

I don’t think there was a roof leak. I think it came from kitchen area.

The only camper with a soft floor I would consider is an Airstream since the shell lasts almost
forever.

Rot in roof/walls/floors of most campers not worth getting involved with IMHO.

If you already owned it then possibly worth fixing.

The construction of a trailer is floor first. The rest of the camper is built on the floor. If you have to replace the floor it will be a compromise. Don't count on the roof being the source of the leak. I've seen many campers leak at the water heater. The manufactures like to mix standards of pipe fitting at the water heater. The water heater FPT faucet connector to the MPC to MPT adapter is a know problem.

The manufactures also like to use aviation clamps on hot water rated hose which has no compression rate. They always leak under the screw. They can be fixed buy adding a strip of rubber under the clamp or replacing with high pressure fuel injection clamps.

Soft floor would be a deal breaker. Too many good trailers out there that don't have issues.

Check the water pump, most have a plastic sediment bowl on them and when wintizing they tend to forget to unscrew it and empty it. It can freeze and crack.

Floor in a newer camper is not very solid to start with. Mine is a aluminum square tubing grid with 1 1/2 of foam in between them and 3/8 plywood over top. Mine water soft from the water pump leak. It was only out in the middle and not under the cabinets. I cut the vinyl out and the 3-8 plywood had came apart . I cut it out and let it dry a while. I put 3/4 avantec plywood over the foam. I then used plank vinyl flooring . Its holding up fine.

I once fixed a tent trailer floor. I lifted the box and slide another floor under it. Can you see yourself doing that ? On a truck camper the plywood, if you are lucky, box/floor is the main frame. If it's rotten, the truck camper is only worth the appliances..
