Thinking of adding a Rec Tec pellet grill to my grill collection. Have a gas weber, a green egg, smaller weber charcoal grill

Seems like a decent pellet grill for the money

Both of my daughters and their husbands love their Traegers and the smokey flavor they impart.

Me? I had a big Brinkman gas grill on the front deck for about six years and fired it up three times total. I finally figured out I had no use for a grill of any kind. Momma and I are perfectly happy with food cooked on a perfectly good kitchen range.

RecTecs are about the best bang for your buck if good build quality and company warranty/support are important to you.

A $400 box store pellet grill will make the same quality food but they will be finicky and will wear out 4x as fast.

Get a RecTec, you won't regret it.

Whats a good tabletop grill that would be easy to knock down and stow away for RV use?
Gotta be 4 Ribeye capable, no bigger, no smaller...Gas preferred. pellet would be OK too.

My buddy just bought a Yoder Smoker pellet grill

I have a treager and can honestly say it's not even in the same ballpark as the yoder

I run a Weber kettle. There is lots to be gained by trying different fuels. My basic setup is cubes in the summer, lump in the winter. Adding
a couple if chunks of hardwood to the coal trays helps quit a bit.

Note: 1) Don't use your chop saw to make BBQ hardwood chunks
2) Don't ask me how I know item (1)

I almost bought a Rec Tec but just couldn't get past the made in China thing.
Bought a Yoder YS 640. It's made in America and built like a tank. It's more money than a Rec Tec but should last a lifetime ( or two).
The Yoder does an awsome job and is money well spent.
Go Yoder, you'll be glad you did.

The number one benefit of pellet grills is you can take few pellets and drop them in the toilet at a party. They will expand to size of the worlds best fiber shat.

Used gas, rebuilt it once. Tossed it the next time it needed fixing. Now it's a Weber kettle, my second. I try to use the natural charcoal lit in a chimney, but also use a bunch of mulberry and black cherry from my yard, more than charcoal actually. Easier than it sounds. Great taste.

Not sure what the draw is for the pellets, except maybe they can be temp-controlled without futzing around. I have time to futz.

Buddy has one, loves it.

I love my pit boss vertical pellet smoker as well. Folks are coming in today, got a brisket going as we speak.

I have three REC TEC's and really like them.

I have a Bull, the Stampede and the Trail Blazer.

They are great grill and work well.

If I had to do it over, I'd get the Bull for all of them.

A 6 year warranty is pretty nice too.

Their customer service is rumored to be fantastic, I have needed it yet which is a good sign.

In my opinion Traegers done hold a candle to REC TEC's. I've had both and there is no comparison.
